National City
Sustainable Mobility Plan

About
National City is developing a Sustainable Mobility Plan (SMP) that will recommend specific projects, programs, and policies to improve transportation options for all residents and visitors. By identifying barriers to mobility and key destinations throughout the city, the SMP project team will create a plan that values safe, connected, and reliable transportation—whether by walking, biking, transit, or other modes.
As part of the SMP development, the City will:
Survey community members to identify potential improvement projects
Host community events where residents can connect with the project team and share input
Request feedback to help prioritize mobility projects
The SMP is designed to support healthier, more sustainable, and equitable transportation for everyone in National City. Recommendations will be based on community input and stakeholder feedback, with a focus on enhancing accessibility, safety, and connectivity across all neighborhoods.

Join us for a walk!
Help us identify issues in your neighborhood that affect how people get around, whether they walk, bike, drive, or use transit. Join us for a walk around your neighborhood and share your concerns about transportation safety. Each walk will begin at the location identified above with a brief introduction about the project and purpose of the walk. The walk itself will be approximately ½ mile and no longer than 1 hour. Please join for any portion of time. If you are not interested in walking, feel free to come to the meeting spot to provide feedback to our project team as we will be on site for approximately 2 hours.
